Advanced Digital Imaging
Semester long 9-12 | Student Work
This second course in the Digital Imagery Program focuses heavily on utilizing Adobe Photoshop to expand their knowledge about how to utilize the elements of art and design to create digital art. Students investigate the history of typography and graphic design throughout the course. Students further investigate how to use color in the graphic arts, through the examination on topics in double exposures, collage and compositing, design of publications such as cookbooks, brochures, flyers, and advertisements. Students learn how to use layers, create drop shadows, use cutout features, and adjust and change colors. Similar to Introduction to Digital Imagery, students are asked to perform research and examine work created by graphic artists. Students also learn how to incorporate personal writing and drawings into their work to make their designs more original.
